A local man rushed out of the New York subway this morning, ran up the stairs and skipped every other step. Reportedly, he got to his destination .45 seconds sooner than others getting to where they need to go.
Roger Smith, a 45-year-old lawyer, said he had to get to work on-time, so he figured he would skip a few steps. He could not be reached for comment; he was in too big of a rush.
“It was so fast. He had to be going somewhere important,” Marg Westin, a witness of the event, said.
The staircase which Smith skipped through is 14 steps to the street. Seven of those steps were not used today.
